An illustration for the newly discovered benefits of eating dark chocolate I wish I was better at Photoshop but the more I tried to get rid of the D's the crappier it looked...

Lake View High School football players teamed up to deliever Thanksgiving dinners to 10 families in the Lake View Community. The dinners, purchased by San Diego Chargers rookie linebacker and Lake View native Anthony Waters will feed about 100 people.
I spent the month of October covering the homecoming events at five area schools. The project was the answer to a question I had in my head, "How can I tell a story about footbal that isn't about football?" It was also a way for me to have something to work on outside of my daily assignments. I was able to shoot my way and not worry about making sure I had the right person speaking at a podium. At every school I found groups of students working together to build floats, play games and have fun celebrating school spirit. The final artical runs on Thanksgiving Day with the story I wrote as well. There is also a multimedia piece to run on the web. This was my first project I thought of and excecuted by myself, I'm proud of the final piece and can't wait to see it in print.
