Today was beautiful..

as is any day when I can get what I have to do out of the way and then do what I want. Today I shot a morning daily, took the afternoon at the pool and running, then I shot a "Senior" Prom at a local nursing home. I love my job and the people I meet never stop amazing me. Here are a few early edits, sometimes I think I am getting better at this.

Illustration ...

I was shooting this illustration on picnic safety with the little fake ants when a fly landed on the sandwich.. not sure if it reads but it got me excited.

What I wouldn't give for..

A baseball field free of chain link fences, yellow safety stuff, and sponsorship signs. But still 72 degrees and a night on the ball field, welcome back summer.

Air Show

Two days, three flights, I love my job. Anyone else see the face in this one?

Airborn

Spent the better part of the day in two different kind of planes, a 1940 by-plane and this one, a 1943 DC-3 my favorite of the two. I am decidedly not a fan of open cock pit planes, but I'd do it again in a second!!!

Adoption 2...

While waiting with the Sprague family in the courhouse last Monday another family walked in with three white children and a black baby in the car carrier. I grabbed Jamie, our writer, and suggested she write them a not explaining what we we doing with our adoption story. She did and Cherry and Robert Jordan called us yesterday. Tonght was the adoption party for four-month-old Matthew. The Jordan family already had three biological children and when Cherry had a miscariage last summer they decided to adopt their fouth child. Matthew officially became a member of the Jordan family on Monday May 19, 2008. This job, this life, never stops leaving me bewildered, amazed, and grateful.

Troop Return

Yesterday I covered the return of the 218th Infantry Brigade to the Darlington Armory after a year deployment in Afghanistan. While waiting for the bus students from the Darlington County Institute of Technology decided to walk over to the armory to say Thanks You. People truly are wonderful.

Playing...

My neighbor Donnie, hairstylist, artist, and all around cool person asked me to do the portraits of him he will use in his next painting. A wonderful opportunity for me to play with lights, a couple of 550's and a lamp, as well as a some selective kelvin temperature settings.. here a few favorites.

I had horses my entire life and never met a horse with a tracheotomy ... Weezy and Flash are just two of the 12 horses Denise Hughes just rescued.
